Summary

I am of sober habits, I am a smart-working individual who takes pride in his work and is a fast learner. I served in the Qunu Youth Development Foundation as a volunteer secretary, in which we supplied students without electricity from rural areas with solar lights, in partnership with SA Airlink and SAA. Coupled with my tutoring experience working at the world-famous and reputable Nelson Mandela Museum I can be a strong asset for your organization, we assisted children after-school with their school work. I am also part of the +-3500 strong network of young leaders all over South Africa who serve their communities and are organized under Activate!. This is a network I can tap into anytime to enhance the learning experience in the position. My strong interest in education is the drive behind this application. If your organization affords me the opportunity you will not regret it. I am in the process of completing my Certificate in Community Development ( NQF Level5 ), which bodes for my future ambitions in learning more about the development space in South Africa. I also worked for Hope Africa, as a Peer Group Trainer, a program that works with Adolescent Girls and Young Women with psychosocial support and biomedical services, I am also currently part of the YALI online course program on Civic Leadership. We recently also established a Youth Hub in Khayelitsha, Site C as a volunteer work in which we had given away our RDP house, we realized that many entrepreneurs, students, social innovators and people not in employment, education or training ( NEET ) struggle to access hubs where they can access multiple service points under one roof, with main need being a conducive space for meeting, refreshments and hosting events at a small scale. The idea of this hub is to enable young people to be able to impact the community at large and it boasts the potential to revive the local economy. We are striving for equality amongst the youth of our community understanding that equality does not mean sameness, we can be equal but different.
